EPF is a social security institution formed according to the Laws of Malaysia, Employees Provident Fund Act 1991 (Act 452) which provides retirement benefits for members through management of their savings in an efficient and reliable manner. As at 31 December 2009, EPF has a total of 12.35 million members. The total number of active and contributing members is 5.79 million. The total number of active employers is 453,716. EPF has investments in Malaysian Government Securities, Loans & Bonds, equities, money market Instruments and Property.

Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan)("KWAP") or the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) was established on 1st March 2007 under the Retirement Fund Act 2007(Act 662) replacing the repealed Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454). The Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454) was enacted to assist the Federal Government in funding its pension liability. KWAP has investments in Malaysian Government Securities, private debt securities, equities and money market instruments.

The Social Security Organization (SOCSO) was established in 1971 under the Human Resources Ministry to implement and administer the social security schemes under the Employees' Social Security Act 1969 (Act 4), i.e the Employment Injury Insurance Scheme and the Invalidity Pension Scheme. Under this scheme, workers are protected against industrial accident including accident occurred while working, occupational diseases, invalidity or death due to any cause.

Lembaga Tabung Haji as a government-linked organization that provides savings services to Muslims who are planning pilgrimages to Mecca. LTH actively invests in financial investment instruments such as Islamic bonds, corporate notes, government investment certificates , bank accounts and mudhaarabah "bill of acceptances". LTH's also invests in various sectors such as agriculture, property development, construction, services and production of halal products.

Incorporated on March 17, 1978, PNB was conceived as a pivotal instrument of the Government's New Economic Policy to promote share ownership in the corporate sector among the Bumiputera, and develop opportunities for suitable Bumiputera professionals to participate in the creation and management of wealth. PNB has a diversified portfolio of interests that include unit trusts, institution property trust, property management and asset management.

Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera was established in August 1972 by an Act of Parliament. As part of its long term strategy, LTAT has substantial investment in the plantation industry to take advantage of good prospects of the agricultural sector. LTAT has also investments in property development and participated in companies involved in the manufacturing of building materials. In the financial services sector, LTAT has controlling interest in a number of financial institutions including a commercial bank, a merchant bank, a finance company, a general insurance company, a discount house, a money broking house, a stockbroking company and an asset management company.

Amanah Raya Berhad is Malaysia's premier trustee company. Since its establishment as the Department of Public Trustee and Official Administrator on 1 May 1921, AmanahRaya have served the nation for over 80 years and is the market leader in providing trust, legacy management and Will-services.

Khazanah Nasional Berhad is the investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia entrusted to hold and manage the commercial assets of the government and to undertake strategic investments. Khazanah was incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 on 3 September 1993 as a public limited company. The share capital of Khazanah is owned by the Minister of Finance, a body corporate incorporated pursuant to the Minister of Finance (Incorporation) Act, 1957. Khazanah Nasional has substantial stakes in companies that are involved in various sectors such as agriculture, automotive, finance, healthcare, infrastructure and construction, media and communication, property, technology and biotechonology, utilities, transportations and logistic, cement and concrete and retail.

1Malaysia Development Berhad ("1MDB") is a strategic development company wholly owned by the Government of Malaysia. It serves as a catalyst for long-term sustainable economic development, advocating innovation and high performance towards strengthening national competitiveness. 1MDB investments focuses on the energy, real estate, tourism and agribusiness.
